In a Douglas, Massachusetts, home, Lauren Dworak of Kitchen & Bath Gallery designed a bar area just off the kitchen that has an ice maker, fridge and sink with a vintage-style Artifacts Gentleman’s bar faucet by Kohler, and she made the spaces look seamless by using white cabinets and black granite countertops in each. A potted plant and floating shelves made from locally sourced wood nod to the home’s woodland setting.

The small bar punches above its weight style-wise too, with wood-finish drawers with cutout handles, matching wood floating shelves and a warmly veined stone slab countertop that continues up the wall to make a stunning ceiling-height backsplash.

During her remodel of a Plymouth, Minnesota, kitchen, designer Kate Roos added this bar area in the dining room. It has a beverage refrigerator and holds pantry items, overflow serving ware and other miscellaneous items in addition to wine and glassware. Roos (who used Houzz Pro business software during the project) turned the area into a focal point by framing the client’s painting of a tulip with a walnut surround in the serving area and using soft Harlequin Asuka wallpaper as a backdrop.
