A cleverly designed closet office in New York uses pocketing doors that fold shut to conceal a workspace in the primary bedroom of the homeowner, who wanted it to be beautiful but hidden completely when closed. The owners of this newly built home in Minneapolis wanted an office that was functional as well as visually appealing. Jackie Thein of Anchor Builders designed a special space with a clean look that’s a work area for the owners and their children. There’s plenty of room for two at the desk’s symmetrical workstations, which are constructed of rift-sawn white oak and separated by a central column that acts as a divider and also hides outlets, printers and other items. Cords are accessed from below the desktop, keeping the coral-colored corkboard backsplash open.
